Rooms at No.15 Bath

Bedrooms as remarkable as they are comfortable

Our bedrooms are 36 one-offs. It’s the result of being in marvellously detailed residential townhouses rather than standard hotel buildings. But it’s also because of our love of good design and our magpie-like eye for art and objects that tell stories and raise smiles. In short, we can’t help but get creative.

There are snug rooms and vast rooms. Gloriously grand rooms and seriously relaxing rooms. And if you are staying in any of them, there’s a little extension in the form of our Pantry full of complimentary treats for you to enjoy any time.

Standard in every room

One-off rooms with a few good things in common

That no two bedrooms are the same is a fact we really like. But there are some important features they all share.

Hypnos Lansdowne cashmere mattress dressed in 200-thread-count Egyptian cotton linen / WiFi / Nespresso kit, kettle, tea & coffee / The right to raid our Pantry packed full of treats / Dyson hairdryer / Bramley shampoo, conditioner & body wash / Turntable (choose your records from the selection in the disc library) / Flat screen TV with freeview and chromecast

Small Guest Room

Most of our Small Guest Rooms are bijou attic rooms that would have been the servant’s quarters back in the day. Those up at the top of the main buildings offer bird’s-eye views over Great Pulteney Street and a vast maze of rooftops beyond. Although these rooms are our smallest at 10-15 sqm with double beds, some can be connected to accommodate families. If you are staying with us for more than one night we recommend that you book into a larger room. Sadly the Small Guest Rooms are too small to accommodate dogs.

Guest Room

Various designers have adorned these 19 – 23 sqm rooms, and they’re as eclectic as it comes. Each has a theme inspired by its view, it’s proportions and its character. You could be waking to exotic bird wallpaper on your ceiling inspired by Henrietta Park’s enchanting pergola. Or you might be in the company of an outstanding artwork by a graduate of the revered Bath School of Art. What can be predicted is a luxurious king-size bed, or twin beds if preferred.

Large Guest Room

Our Large Guest Rooms are dotted around the hotel. Each offers a different view of Bath and stands out for its individualistic pep and curious collectables. In one, hand screen-printed wallpaper by Tracy Kendall presents a huge handwritten inventory of what might be found in a Georgian home. It’s quite the read. With their seating area and deeply comfortable king-size or twin beds, these 19 – 28 sqm rooms are perfect for families or those bringing along their best four-legged friend.

Coach House Guest Room

Behind the main buildings, you’ll find our Coach House. Built around 30 years after our townhouses, the architect threw off Georgian classicism constraints and had some fun. The result is a folly with a crenellated parapet frontage and quatrefoil windows that give off a distinctly Gothic vibe. Our easy-on-the-eye, sanctuary-like Coach House Guest Rooms are 19-30 sqm in size and face either the main buildings or Henrietta Park. The few steps up to the entrance mean that these rooms are not accessible for wheelchair users.

Coach House Large Guest Room

Our two Coach House Large Guest Rooms are little worlds of their own. One is top floor, one is ground floor of our Coach House and sport relaxing shades and striking features. Looking out towards Henrietta Park, they make for great hideaways and hangouts. There’s a lounging area with decorative fireplace, king-size or twin beds and big bathrooms with stand alone tub and a rain shower. The few steps up to the entrance mean that these rooms are not accessible for wheelchair users.

Henrietta Rooms

On our first, second and third floors, looking out over Henrietta Park and the city beyond, you’ll find our 20 – 25 sqm Henrietta Rooms. And they have the stamp of Martin Hulbert Design’s dedication to remarkable decoration all over them. The illustrated backdrops to the king or super-king beds, raw plaster borders, ultra-modern furniture and curio collections come together to bridge yesterday with today in some of our Henrietta Rooms. While others are light-bright-minimalist sanctuaries. And the lovely bathrooms feature mirrored walls and marble-topped washstands with bespoke hand basins.

Pulteney Rooms

These dreamy 24-26 sqm bedrooms occupy the prized position at the front of our townhouses on the first and second floors. Most boast super-high ceilings. And they all feature vast sash windows with shutters and drapes, the grandeur of which is enough to wow alone. But the wow doesn’t stop there. Martin Hulbert Design’s wondrous details reveal our buildings’ heritage with a wink. A super-king four-poster bed in some and seating area embrace the space. And marble-topped washstands with bespoke hand basins enhance the beauty of the bathrooms.

The Hideout

This is Bath’s standout hotel room. If you can call it a hotel room. The 55sqm Hideout feels like an apartment with a spa. It gives its guests the very deepest sense of privacy and relaxation. The star of the show is its huge bathroom with hot tub that feels as though it is outdoors. But its bedroom, dressing room, lounge with fireplace and Sonos system are all part of the allure, too. It’s a space for couples to dim the lights, settle in and drift into sanctuary.
