A beachfront belle of a boutique hotel in the artful, fun-filled town of Margate.
Margate is the British seaside town that has held its own since it became the place to be in 1730. And we’re sitting on the front in the characterful Old Town, bathing in all the glory of the light dancing on the water.
The old hotel we’ve made our own is one of those Victorian beauties that sits elegantly poised above the main swathe of golden sands, giving its guests dreamy views across the bay. Bedrooms are sometimes balconied and always rich with heritage detailing. There are four places devoted to food and drink - all with their own thing going on and one with bird's eye views, but all holding local ingredients and skills on high. The treatment rooms are there for you and your wellbeing. And, as ever, service is with a very big smile.
There are 21 bedrooms within the walls of our Victorian dream of a building. Original features have been preserved and paired with all the modern stuff you need. Some have balconies for extra greatness. They are all lovely.
Food & Drink
There’s a restaurant, a café, and a laid-back lounge bar, all under one very fun rooftop cocktail bar. That’s a lot of food and drink to explore.
The Treatment Rooms within Field Trip are very-mellow spaces where highly skilled therapists target their expertise on making you feel brand new.
Bringing the kids
As any parent knows, happy children are the not-so-secret secret to every great family trip. So, we have a few things up our sleeves to help keep them entertained while they stay with us.
Bringing the dog
Other than between 1st May and 30th September, when it's a big, fat no-no, dogs love being on Margate beach (understatement). If you bring yours, we have a few things to make them feel at home.
Play those records
Every room has a Crosley record player and a few choice records. There's also access to a curated vinyl library so you can soundtrack your stay.
Raid our Pantry
The contents of our pantry in a handsome vintage ticket booth are all yours to enjoy any time of day or night, and it's all on us. It's stocked daily with sweet and savoury snacks like pots of locally supplied ice cream, homemade baked goodies, soft drinks, and fresh fruit.
Station luggage pick up
The station is only about 11 mins walk away, but that’s 11 mins you could be bag-free, so let us meet you off your train and take your bags back to the hotel.
We’ll swap your luggage for an umbrella (if it’s one of those days). Get in touch to request your luggage pick up, and we’ll see you at the station.
