Pearly Cow, the new concept restaurant that resides within No.1, York serves only the very best produce from the surrounding land and sea. On the menu, there’s raw and light and smoky and deep. They keep it simple; cooking over fire or serving over ice to always put nature first. Breakfast at Pearly Cow is light, hearty, or kick-starting with oysters and spiced-as-you-like bloody Marys. Lunch and dinner feature star ingredients in classics, interpretations, sharing dishes, and divine desserts. And kids have their own Pearly Calves menu.
In The Bar at No.1 there's signature cocktails that transports you to the fireside after a wintry walk in the dales. And the local honey so heather-fragrant that it’s as though you’re rambling in the wildest nature of the North York Moors. Those moments of escape from everyday life to revel in the wonder of our island’s charms is, for us, something to treasure and share.
Pearly Cow
Pearly Cow is devoted to respecting what thrives nearby – the herds, breeds, crops, and catches that sum up the area’s flavour. And in its first home of York, it is strictly the wildest produce of land and sea cooked over fire or served on ice.

Afternoon Tea
Our gorgeous building was born to have people take afternoon tea in it. Indulge yourself with afternoon tea in the cosiness of the Marmalade Lounge, and you’ll be doing something truly lovely. We also offer afternoon tea with spa treatments - the perfect gift.
The Rhubarb Bar
Throughout the day and night, a wonderful mix of drinks is served in our bar (or on the sun terrace if it’s nice out). It’s a handsome, quirky hangout with York-related storytelling running through its design, and exceptional cocktails, local brews and hands-down favourites flowing out from the hands of its happy team. Don't miss the train!
The Marmalade Lounge
Beyond the bar, there’s a divine snug of a lounge. Its rich tones are a nod to the great British toast-and-teacake-topper that is marmalade. And a local artist’s large-scale, Minster-tile-inspired artworks are something else.
