Our kitchen and bar team cleverly conjure the essence of great British escapes to create flavours that feel familiar and original all at once.
There’s the signature cocktail called the Old Fashioned Parkin that transports you to the fireside after a wintry walk in the dales. And the local honey so heather-fragrant that it’s as though you’re rambling in the wildest nature of the North York Moors. Those moments of escape from everyday life to revel in the wonder of our island’s charms is, for us, something to treasure and share.
Our restaurant is a lovely, light-filled room with a relaxed but elegant vibe. This is where we serve food that gets its flavour greatness from the ingredients that hail from nearby farms, dairies and hives.
Throughout the day and night, a wonderful mix of drinks is served in our bar (or on the sun terrace if it’s nice out). It’s a handsome, quirky hangout with York-related storytelling running through its design, and exceptional cocktails, local brews and hands-down favourites flowing out from the hands of its happy team.
The Marmalade Lounge
Beyond the bar, there’s a divine snug of a lounge. Its rich tones are a nod to the great British toast-and-teacake-topper that is marmalade. And a local artist’s large-scale, Minster-tile-inspired artworks are something else.
Our chefs give the glorious institution that is the Sunday roast all the traditional treatments it deserves, plus the odd twist here and there to make it extra special. With local produce as exceptional as it is, this weekly feast is a feast not to miss.
